A Florida man is facing armed robbery charges for holding up a store, with part of a palm tree!
This surveillance video shows Gelando Olivieri brandishing the weapon and demanding money from the clerk at the V and F Discount Beverage In DeLand.
But a quick-thinking customer responded to the robbery by chasing Olivieri out of the store with a bar stool.
The would-be robber was caught a block or two away from the store.
Police said even though his weapon of choice was a bit unusual... the sharp end of the palm could have hurt somebody and Olivieri is in jail on a 20-thousand dollar bond.
