Opening day of the 2008 Olympics not only marked a special day for China and all competing athletes but from this point forth it will be known as the Birthday of Olympic Games.

A rescued panda gave birth on the opening day of the Olympic ceremonies.

The new cub was named "Ao Yun" which means "Olympic Games" in Mandarin.

The birth of Olympic games is very special because the baby's mom was one of fifty bears evacuated from a sanctuary back in May when a devastating earthquake ripped through several Chinese provinces.
