MIAMI (AP) -- The Internal Revenue Service is still chasing
three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves despite his
2009 acquittal on tax evasion charges.

The IRS claims in a civil U.S. Tax Court filing that Castroneves
owes more than $6 million in taxes and penalties. That dispute
involves the same income that was at issue in the criminal case.

Castroneves' attorney says the racer paid $5 million in taxes
after the trial. But the IRS contends Castroneves owes more because
of alleged fraud. The matter will eventually be decided by a Tax
Court judge unless there is a settlement.

Castroneves is a Brazilian native and South Florida resident who
gained wide fame in 2007 by winning TV's "Dancing With The Stars"
competition.
