The Jefferson County Warriors Semi-Pro Football Team (7-1) is preparing to play their last regular season game this Saturday at 7pm in Monticello Florida against the currently undefeated South Georgia Seminoles (9-0).
The two GDFL (Gridiron Developmental Football League) XTREME Conference football teams met earlier in the season at the Seminoles home where the Warriors fell to the Seminoles 28-30 knocking them from a #4 ranking to #23 and catapulting the Seminoles from a #24 ranking to #17.
Now the currently #11 ranked Warriors will play host to the #6 Seminoles Saturday night to end the regular season as both teams vy for #1 and #2 seedings in their division. The Seminoles have already clinched a playoff birth.
With a win the Warriors will undoubtedly be the #2 seed since they only have 9 games on the season and the Seminoles have 10 with this contest making it just that. The new rankings have NOT been posted yet, but should be up tomorrow before the two teams contest Saturday night. Admission price is $7 or $8.
Also the playoffs for the Gridiron Developmental Football League begin Saturday August 27 for both the XTREME & IMPACT Conferences that will see a team from each conference meet up in Atlanta Georgia on September 30th through October 2nd for the GDFL Championship Game and AllStar Weekend Celebration.
