Zacawho? Zacadoo’s!

Zacadoo’s was good. The food was fresh and the service was quick and friendly. Sometimes the only option is fast food, and it was nice being able to hit a local business rather than one of the national franchises. If you’re on Apalachee Parkway, and have a craving for a quick meal, Zacadoo’s is a decent option.

A Sack of Steak at the Sheik

Lunch at the Sheik was fast and affordable. The service was very friendly and restaurant, including the tables, were very clean. I would stop in at the Sheik the next time I am in that part of Orange Park, and may even give the curiously named Camel Rider a try.

Lunch at George & Louie’s

I never carry cash. Never. The first time I went to George & Louie's I had no idea they were a cash only restaurant. I learned this fact when I reached the front of the line and had to sprint across a parking lot to a nearby bank.

A Slow Motion Meal at Bright Mornings Cafe

I love going out to breakfast. A good one can start your day off right and there is something relaxing about sipping a cup of coffee, doing some people watching, and waiting for a tall stack of pancakes. While over in Fernandina Beach, Florida, we decided to try out Bright Side Morning Cafe.

Pulled Pork at Chubo’s Dawg House

A small sign on the road announced Chubo's Dawg House had set up shop somewhere in the plaza that serves as a home to Tan's Asian Cafe, Esposito's, and the Brooma Grill. I cruised the parking lot looking for the food truck and pulled a u-turn.

Aloha to the King’s Hawaiian Pork & Slaw Sandwich

While attending Florida State, the Firehouse Subs was one of my go to places for a quick and tasty meal at a price that would not break my student budget. Even though I've graduated I still enjoy eating there. Recently I heard on the radio that they were rolling out a new menu item called the King's Hawaiian Pork & Slaw Sandwich and I knew I had to give it a whirl.

A Solid Steak and Cheese Sandwich from the Meat House

Unwrapping the sandwich the microwave's ding rand in my ear. How could they nuke beef tips? My expectations plummeted and I took a bite. To my surprise rather than being tough and rubbery the beef tips were tender.

Black Jack’s Smoke Stack BBQ

Despite its unassuming appearance the parking lot was packed. I opened the front door and was greeted by a smiling waitress. She called me darling and told me to take a seat wherever I liked.

Bahn Mi at Nha Trang

I approached the shaded patio located on the backside of a building that faced Colonial Drive. Wisp of blue gray smoke curled above several lounging men who smoked cigarettes. I asked if they knew where Nha Trang was located. They shook their heads and indicated they did not speak English.
