So goes Florida, So goes the Nation
They say that history tends to repeat itself every 20 years, maybe 100 years or so. Our economy somehow plummets, unemployment is at a “new all time high”, America is torn between a war and saving people’s lives, while Democrats and Republicans play political chess for Majority. Now I am not a political historian but this election season is so reminiscent of the 1994 mid-term elections; better known in some circles as the Republican Revolution, Google it.

Here in Florida, locally and statewide, we are on the brink of something historic but I do not believe that most people realize how significant this November election really is. Long-story short, if the Democrats can gain majority or enough seats in the Florida House then we can actually have bi-partisan politics in our state. I can see it now, a legislature full of politicians not worried about finger pointing, backroom deals, and inaccurate accuracies in budgeting, but one that is about the people and for the people. Aww the joy, and the benefit to the local governments will be tremendous. It’s funny to me because I cannot remember a time where we had a political system in Florida that was bi-partisan across the board.
And Congress will be next, because any political analyst will tell you, “So goes Florida, So goes the Nation."
