*Cream 2 c. sugar & ¾ c. butter or margarine.
*Add 1½ c. boiling water.
*Sift 2 c. four, ½ c. cocoa, ½ t. salt & 2 t. baking soda.
Add to first mixture; mix well.
*Add 2 eggs & 1 t. vanilla extract.
*Bake in greased 9X13 pan @ 350 for 45 minutes. Works well as a layer cake. Flour greased pans & reduce baking time to 30 min.
Milk Chocolate Icing:
*Soften ¼ c. butter or margarine in mixing bowl;
*Add 2-3 T. cocoa;
*Add 2 ½ c. 10X powdered sugar & 1 t. vanilla extract.
*Add enough milk to make spreadable consistency.
Ice cooled cake.
