I'm delighted to be able to give back to the community a little bit and to bring economic growth over there.

Lord knows times are tough and not only for Monticello but in Lloyd, Wacissa, and in Jefferson County. We need to bring businesses there while retaining our rural character.

We're still in the process. We have an economic development council that's been successful in bringing in American Hunter, opening a distribution center in our industrial park. Also got a grant for planning in the park so that's in the process and we're trying to reach out and do marketing.

JCKC is a valuable part of the community. We are primarily agriculture in cattle. Some nursing homes that do give us an economic base there.
