Coaches Corner: Tallahassee Babe Ruth
In Babe Ruth Baseball, Tallahassee sets the level for excellence. Since 1984, fifteen teams for the capital city have advanced to the World Series, and this year, two more will make the trip. While it's a trip of a lifetime for the players, the managers of the 13 and 14 teams still get the same joy.

Tallahassee 13U manager Roy Weidner says,
"It's very rewarding. We start with them in February and for the most part they're a bunch of skinny, scrawny kids back then. This age they grow quite a bit between then and now. Their level of play and everything has just grown by leaps and bounds since then. We've watched them all season just get better and better."
For months the team spends together preparing for this time of the year. With tournaments all across the region, they form a family on the baseball diamond.
Tallahassee 14U manager Logan Willis adds,
"I still feel like I'm out there. In the tournaments we get mistaken for players, all three of the coaches. It's been pretty interesting. I still feel like I'm on the team kind of."
Roy Weidner adds,
"This group has been together, as a team, we have been together for two and a half months now and yea we pretty much are like a family."
For the final time this summer, they will one more trip.
