A former signal caller himself, he set national records at Samford before making the transition to coach. As a mentor he has compelled on of the greatest resumes at the position. While quarterbacks coach at Auburn he coached the only three thousand yard passer in Dameyune Craig.
FSU quarterbacks coach Dameyune Craig says,
"Myself and Coach Fisher go way back. I understand his demanding demeanor and high excitement, his philosophy, his teachings."
FSU offensive coordinator James Coley says,
"He does a phenomenal job at developing quarterbacks. If you go back, our quarterbacks coach, one of the greatest Auburn quarterbacks of all time, Dameyune Craig."
At LSU he coached five quarterbacks in seven years that were NFL draft picks and helped lead the Bayou Bengals to the 2003 National Championship.
At Florida State, he molded Christian Ponder into a heisman trophy contender.
FSU senior quarterback Christian Ponder says,
"He expects perfection especially out of the quarterback position. He's really demanded me and worked me hard which has obviously paid off. I've improved ever since I've stepped on campus and just gaining an understanding of the game of football especially on the offensive side."
James Coley adds,
"You start off with your leader being that guy and who's a great teammate, who is the hardest worker, and who is a student of the game. It trickles down."
