Already the winning est coach in FSU Women's Basketball history, Sue Semrau enters her 15th year as the head coach of the lady 'Noles. Fresh off a trip to the elite eight for the first time in school history, Coach Sue spent a busy summer away from the courts in Tallahassee turning her attention to some of the nation best young women's basketball players.
FSU head women's basketball coach Sue Semrau says,
"Just having an opportunity to coach young people that are representing the United States of America. It's a lot bigger picture than representing and institution or a hometown. When it's your country it's huge."
While serving as an assistant coach for the under 18 women's American team, she earned a gold medal in the FIBA Americans championship. Now her attention switched back to the garnet and gold.
Sue Semrau adds,
"It's an exciting time because we have some momentum that we built last year. I know that our upper class men are very hungry to continue that type of run that we've been able to make the past couple of years. They've worked extremely hard in the off season. Even though we lost three seniors, now what we're looking at is a great incoming freshman class. We can look at what we lost and we can say 'Aww that was tough' but our core group coming back is fantastic and what we gain is really going to be the key to how far we can go this year."
