From baseball to football to tennis and beyond, much of an athlete's success begins in the weight room, where developing a strong core can be the key to longevity.

The core movements are designed to give the athlete more stability in its core region, and it's designed for speed, power, quickness, and overall development of the athlete.
This is called the Russian Twist. Notice that the athlete's feet are off the ground a little bit. He can go more left and right and get a good core movement there.
This next one is called a "V-Up." V-Up is a good combination of upper abdominals and lower abdominals, and these are pretty simple movements.
Over here we'll look at the Power Clean, and notice how the athlete will pull up as he goes up and down with the bar, developing a lot of core, believe it or not, but also the leg strength, the jumping strength, upper body strength."
Parallel squat. Notice the motion. Nice and deep and low. Butt going beyond 90 degrees. Big chest in the front, back is arched. This develops also the core.
This is called an Overhead Squat. As you notice, the bar is over your head and again, head is forward, back is arched, big chest in the front. This develops a lot of the ab rotation.
Starting out, you want to go nice and easy. Make sure the form is critical and correct in everything that you do. That's it for today. Thank you.
