As the year comes to a close December has been a busy month for Jimbo Fisher. It began with FSU playing in the ACC Championship the first weekend, then FSU learned they would play in the Chick-fil-A Bowl New Years Eve against South Carolina. Squeezed in-between time on the practice field were recruiting trips and now it's life on the road for bowl week, which takes it's toll over time.
FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher says,
"You meet and get all your game preparation, then you practice and immediately get on a plane and go recruit. All that and sometimes you get home at 11 and sometimes at 2 or 3 in the morning, where every you're going. Then you get up the next day for a seven o clock meeting and go again so eight to ten days of that is pretty tough."
Currently rivals ranks FSU as the third best recruiting class in the country with signing day a little less than two months away.
Jimbo Fisher adds,
"We got the players we wanted and I don't mean this as far as guys are ranked, we got the guys we wanted and we thought they were very good football players. If they rank them number one, they rank them number one, if they rank them twenty, then they rank them number twenty, that doesn't bother me. We evaluate our own guys. The bottom line is you have to win."
And under his first year FSU has done so and will hopefully continue that tradition.
Jimbo Fisher adds,
"It sends a message to other kids that there's something good going on there. There are a bunch of good kids there, they have a chance to win championships and they want to go play with other good players. At least good guys want to play with other good players."
