Another regular season of basketball at Florida State is in the books. Following the Seminoles 67-50 win over Clemson to close out the regular season, FSU reach 11 conference wins for the third straight year, a first for the women''s basketball program.
FSU women's head basketball coach Sue Semrau says,
"it's hard. These guys really commit and that's the culture of our program. They expect to win and they prepare in such a way and that's to win. Now we have a three day tournament to prepare for."
Florida State already secured a first round bye heading into the game but with little time between the end of the season and the start of the ACC tournament it was important for FSU to end the season on the right note, and send the senior out with a win.
Semrau adds,
"Senior games can be traps sometimes, they can be really scary to come out and everybody is trying too hard. I was really proud of the way they stayed focused and got the win."
Florida State will have the luxury of an extra day of rest as the three seed and will be the last team to play in the end of the season conference tournament. The 'Noles will play the winner between North Carolina and Clemson, Friday night for an 8 o'clock tip off.
