We've all heard the staggering costs associated with adopting a child. 20 or even 30 thousand dollars.
But that's if you adopt privately or go overseas. Adopting a child from foster care is quite another story.
In fact, it's totally free. there's even a monthly stipend to help pay for the child's day to day expenses.
Even more surprising, health insurance and college tuition is paid for too. Another big plus is that you receive the child's medical history and birth certificate, something you might not have access to when adopting overseas.
So why don't more people adopt from foster care? One reason is that most people want to adopt babies, which are usually not available.
Another reason may be that people simply don't know that the children or the benefits exist. And you don't have to be married or in your prime.
Single parents and empty nesters are highly encouraged to open their hearts and homes.
