They are called “at risk youth” because teens aging out of foster care without a family and those with low-income background are truly at risk.
A coalition of state and private agencies across Florida is providing positive options through the strengthening youth partnership. This partnership includes the temporary Summer Youth Employment program, as well as Operation Full Employment.
Using funds from the Federal Stimulus Package local workforce boards will pay for the wages and provide workers compensation to youth employed by businesses over the summer.
