Tallahassee, FL - 100-year-old Wilbur Jones was honored for his service to Tallahassee Thursday.

Jones was a vital part of the landscaping and beautification of the I-10 interchanges at both Thomasville road and North Monroe street in Tallahassee.

"This is a very special occasion for me, especially when I think back to the time when I was with the roads department and there was no landscaping engineer and no section of the department and we put one in," said Jones.

Jones was honored with plaques that were put up at both interchanges. Even though he has worked for beautification projects for more than half a century, he said that type of work will never truly be completed.
