First-Year Medical Students to be Recognized at White Coat Ceremony

FSU Press Release - First-year students at The Florida State University College of Medicine will receive the white coats symbolic of their unofficial entry into the field of medicine during a ceremony Friday evening.

It is always a meaningful event, but this year it will be even more significant than usual:

* This year is the 10th anniversary of the College of Medicine’s creation.

* And with this Class of 2014, the medical school has reached full enrollment.

Here is how much it has grown: In 2001, when the school’s first class arrived, there were only 30 students. Now, counting all of the first- through fourth-year students, there are 480.

The ceremony for 120 members of the Class of 2014 will be held:

FRIDAY, AUG. 20

6 P.M.

OGLESBY UNION BALLROOM

FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

Directions: The Oglesby Union Ballrooms are located within Oglesby Union on the second floor. Parking is available in the parking garage on Woodward Avenue (where the Bookstore and Card Center are located).
