Thomas University has made an offer to purchase the old Magnolia School Complex, which is owned by Thomas County.

TU has the winning bid on the property but only plans to go through with the purchase if the area can be re-zoned from residential to Planned Urban Development use.

If re-zoned, the complex could eventually serve as student housing, a sports complex, and a teaching facility.

Most recently, the Magnolia School complex served as the Hands-On preschool. Its original use was as Magnolia High School.

A public meeting will be held Thursday, September 23rd at 7pm in TU's campus center. Residents are encouraged to attend and give their thoughts on the plans.
