The covert, surprise mission is called "Operation Ziploc," and the objective is to cheer up 530 soldiers in Iraq.
Emily Toelcke Tole-Key, an FSU graduate music student, has begun putting Ziploc bags together filled with all sorts of necessities. Everything from Sudoku games to soap, to bring some cheer to the 82nd Airborne Division in Iraq.
But she is not flying solo anymore. She's got backup from Tallahassee's 122nd Junior Girl Scout Troop. The Girl Scouts have made thank you cards and they will help pack.
Emily Toelcke said, "I definitely anticipated my grandma to be like, 'oh, this is really cool!' But, I mean, everybody else, it's been really exciting because I've received letters and cards from people, that I have no idea where they came from."
With more help, Emily hopes to have all 530 bags packed and delivered by Christmas. If you would like to help with "Operation Ziploc," just find out how by clicking the link below.
