The Red Cross is Thomasville is an active organization that helps area residents when disaster strikes.
Now, the non-profit group is reaching out to local teens to get them more involved.
Red Cross officials say when teens work with the Red Cross, both parties benefit.
Eddie Caviness, program coordinator for the Southwest GA Red Cross Group says,
"It's important, especially in Thomas County, for teens to get involved with the Red Cross, not only for extracurricular activities, but it's also good for the resume for colleges...We're always looking for teens to get involved just because our volunteers are older.."
Teens can get involved with the Red Cross through their high school service club, or they can apply directly to the organization; participants must be at least 16, and the Red Cross provides all training and certification at no cost.
