Tallahassee, FL - In recognition of National Employ Older Works Week, the Florida Department of Elder Affairs will host a celebration honoring senior workers and the businesses that employ them. The event will include recognition of this year’s recipients of the Soaring Eagle Award, presented to elders who remain in the workforce and the businesses that hire them.
The event will also feature remarks by Affairs Interim Secretary Charles T. Corley and a panel discussion including top administrators with the Agency for Workforce Innovation, Workforce Plus, Borders Inc., and Walgreens. In addition, the Department of Elder Affairs’ 2010 Outstanding Older Worker will be honored at the event.
Florida is home to more than 1.4 million experienced, dependable and qualified older workers, who have an important role in meeting the state’s employment needs.
