City schools are raising money and creativity at the same time, with an Italian twist.
"A Night Where Minds Take Flight" pays homage to Leonardo da Vinci with an Italian dinner, live music, and 20 classrooms full of mind-challenging activities...all while raising money for students to compete in Odyssey of the Mind.
Students say they love having the opportunity to be creative in the classroom and after school, too. They say the event is a "cool" thing for the school to host.
Parents say they just enjoy spending time with their children.
One parent even told us he enjoyed seeing his son "develop a passion for things he wouldn't have the opportunity to...experience otherwise."
The event is held to raise funds for students to attend Odyssey of the Mind, a competition that challenges students from state through international levels to think 'outside the box' and use problem-solving skills creatively in topics ranging from engineering to theatre.
