Red Cross "Ask" Campaign

Now the Red Cross has launched its "Community Ask" fundraising campaign, asking for your help. Financial support from the community will contribute to the many "silent disasters" each year, aside from hurricanes.

The Red Cross says it provides for families affected by some 288 house fires each year. And it says that's an average cost of $700 per family of four.

Miss Florida, Kylie Williams, said, "They are just there to help us. They're kinda like that neighborly assistance and they do it free of charge, so these people are completely volunteers and you just really need to help them because they're wonderful."
