Come on Down! It was those three words Jason Longfellow hoped he would hear, and just seconds into the show the 32-year-old Tallahassee native got his chance on contestant row.
"I thought there might be a chance he'll get called down on contestant row but I didn't think that he really would because I didn't think the odds were that good," said Jason's father, Jim.
But those odds played in his favor. A graduate of Godby High School, Jason went on to join the Air Force as an EMT, and last month he attended an EMT seminar in Hollywood.
"I kept saying I'm not believing this; you’re kidding me, you’re kidding me. And finally he convinced me that yes mom, I did get on the Price Is Right," said Jason's mother, Connie.
So he took his first chance at luck and won. Then he won again, and it was his bid of $28,000 that sealed the deal.
"I said come on now, ya know, get real, you’re kidding me. And he said 'No, I won the showcase, mom!" said Connie Longfellow.
"That's how it all started; somebody walked in, said they had 25 tickets to the Price is Right and they had to get rid of it, so he took one!" said Jim Longfellow.
Longfellow now lives in Anchorage, Alaska with his wife and children. He won more than $39,000 worth in cash and prizes.
