The Tallahassee ballet put on the family-oriented event to celebrate it's 35th season.

Children were surprised by a special appearance of Santa and The Nutcracker performers.

They also had the chance to indulge in some of their favorite sweets along with face painting and games.

Organizers say this is the perfect opportunity to get excited for the holiday season.

"The idea was that they would walk in today to just a winter wonderland of sweets and treats and excitement for the day and I think we've accomplished that. We have a great turnout today and are really pleased by the community that is supporting us," said Nancy Click.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Tallahassee Ballet and their production of The Nutcracker in December.
