TALLAHASSEE - Some folks in Frenchtown are getting an extra boost in staying healthy.
The Lincoln Neighborhood Service Center has been named as a new place in Tallahassee for the elderly to come and get a hot meal.
The center will offer free lunch every Monday from here on out. The center used to be the old Lincoln High School. A lot of its alumni, now senior citizens, came to eat Monday.
"I think it's nice because there are a lot of people who don't have a lot of things," said Naomi Washington, who graduated from Lincoln High in 1948. "And to come here and have a meal means so much."
Besides just a free lunch, the center also offers a bunch of activities and educational programs for senior citizens as well. The center's supervisor hopes the warm meal will help improves local senior citizen's quality of life.
