The Downtown Market Place hosts its annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest. This is the 11th year art enthusiasts gathered to chalk the streets with their vibrant designs.

And Saturday was their largest turnout yet. Thirty contestants entered the sidewalk art contest. Among those entering were professional artists, families, and one rather unusual guest.

One contestant was dressed as Elvis. Michael Chaney says, "Uh huh uh huh. Well, this has definitely been the year of Elvis. You know, I spent years rolling over in my grave, and I figured after thirty years, my death it's time to do something new. So Elvis is out here, trying a little something new."

And that something new he was trying, is sidewalk chalk art. In addition to bragging rights, the winner of Saturday's event received a fifty dollar gift card as a prize.

Donations collected go to the Tallahassee Leon County Animal Service Center.
