TALLAHASSEE - It's wintertime in Tallahassee. At least it will be by Saturday.
Park and Recreation workers were busy Friday putting the final touches on the stage, light poles, and decorations that will transform downtown Tallahassee into the annual Winter Festival.
This year workers strung more than 13,000 feet of lights throughout downtown. We also have word from festival planners that there'll even be a few snow flurries.
"The production itself takes just a couple weeks to get done," said Mario Palmentieri, a Parks and Recreation supervisor. "The pre-planning is months and months in advance."
More than one hundred-thousand people are expected to attend this weekend. This year's theme is "Holiday Fun in the Florida Sun."
You can catch all of fun downtown starting Saturday at three o'clock. There'll be entertainment at five different stages throughout the evening. Scattered throughout downtown will be food vendors and arts and crafts.
