Christmas Connection: Cancer Survivor Needs Help

The Christmas Connection helps more than 600 needy families in the Big Bend each year and this year the needs are vast.

One of the families counting on its help lives in Madison.

A 75-year-old cancer survivor is struggling with a host of other health problems. Her daughter cares for her around the clock, as well as for her own daughter, who is handicapped.

The family needs food, clothing, bedding and towels.

The mother needs a winter coat.

The granddaughter would like a CD player with hip hop and gospel CDs, and the family enjoys doing puzzle books together.

This is case number 54.

Here is the family's wish list, including exact sizes:

sheets & blankets - full size

women's clothing sizes:
pants - 14 and 16
shirts - large and extra large
shoes - 9 medium, 8 1/2 wide
dresses - 22 1/2, 14, 16
underwear - 8, 9, 10/12

vacuum cleaner

If you can help this family or any other, drop donations at the Christmas Connection, 3954 West Pensacola Street in Tallahassee.

It's open every day: Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 1pm - 5pm.
