Girl Scout Troop Wraps Gifts for Seniors

Troop 87 spent the evening at the Harbor Chase Assisted Living Community Center to wrap gifts for seniors. These women waited patiently as the girl scouts wrote cards and speed wrapped their presents for their loved ones.

Bethany Chasteen, a Senior Girl Scout said, "It's a great feeling to just help them out and see how excited they are when we hum. They are so overjoyed to see us and we just love talking with them and learning about their past"

Troop 87 will also receive volunteer hours towards their Girl Scout Gold Award, the equivalent of Eagle Scout for Boy Scouts. The girls say the award could earn them scholarships later down the road.
