Teens acted as lawyers and a jury to help the Judge, Sheriff Morris Young, rule on the cases. The teens being tried in this court are then given real sentences by other teens, but they are also given a second chance by getting their record cleared.

Allene Harris, who's great grand daughter was tried said, "She does not have to face the charges and all this will be behind her, so I'm very grateful for the teen court."

Morris Young, Gadsden County Sheriff said, "Like adults, you don't get that second chance, so you know teens get a second chance here and we want to make sure that they understand the law and you know they are judged by their peers."

The teen court is held every other Tuesday night, but the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office says the idea has really caught on and might be increased to once or twice a week.
