Until evidence is reviewed, Leon County authorities are apprehensive in speculating about Gary Hilton, the suspected killer. We spoke to a family member of Cheryl Dunlap to see how she felt about new leads in the murder case.
Gloria Tucker, Dunlap's cousin said, "Just thinking about how many people are interested in Cherrie and how many people she touched, how many people are responsive to her feelings, that is totally overwhelming Totally overwhelming. She was a very kind person."
Dunlap's cousin, Gloria Tucker, once lived with her when they were just kids. But she never thought she would be asked what she thinks about her cousin's possible killer being caught. She too is apprehensive to call Hilton the killer, as many others are.
Gloria Tucker also said, "I would want to get every single fact and if he were found guilty, I would feel relief, but I really wouldn't think that anything they did to him would be enough."
As Leon County Investigators and other authorities put two and two together, they may or may not have their man, which means the killer could still be on the loose.
Gloria Tucker said, "That's the terror if there is someone else out there that's really it." Dunlap's youngest son has left for Iraq and her cousin says he is getting information from his girlfriend. And the oldest son, Mike Dunlap is living in Crawfordville.
