Some volunteer complaints are still being reviewed. The Red Cross says there is a policy and procedure to review concerns of volunteers. The Red Cross will not comment on the firing of Chris Floyd and says it is bound not to do so by legal guidelines.
Regional Communications Director Ike Pigott tells us that volunteers are the backbone of the organization and he appreciates their love for the Red Cross. He said, "We're happy that people are emotional and passionate about the work that's done because it's very important to our clients and to the people who need these services in the community every community's a little bit different in the way it expresses that though, but we're much better off in a community where people care about the Red Cross then one where they don't even know it exists."
The Capital Regional Chapter Red Cross says it will continue to respond to disasters and is prepared for Hurricane Season.
