Check Your Local Government's Dollars and Cents
CFO Alex Sink has launched a web site called, "Your Local Dollars and Cents." There, she says Florida residents can look into what their local government's revenue resources are, what the expenditures are, and even some budget cuts being made.
Tara Klimek, media relations with the Florida Department of Financial Services said, "This is information, actually, the department has always been required to keep by law, but never made it available, so CFO Alex Sink said, 'You know, people need this information. That's so important that we're transparent with our tax dollars and how we spend them.' So we've created this web site to allow anybody to go on there and find out."
