Ochlockonee River Fills Homeowners' Lawns

Homeowners on the river are saying the water is up to their doorstep.
It's one of those things you have to see to believe. For one couple living on the Ochlockonee River, their way of life has changed quite a bit.

Despite what seems to be a major inconvenience, Mark Hartsfield and Susie Strickland say their experience has been rather exciting. In fact, they have to paddle a boat to the end of their driveway to get to their cars.

As for the neighbors, there is one house and a campground next door. The homeowner took off and the campground will not have campers anytime soon. But Mark and Susie say they are not going anywhere.

Strickland said, "As long as I don't lose my house, I think I'll be ok."
Her boyfriend, Mark, said there will be a lot of work to do. He said, "Clean up is probably going to be the worst part about it."

Leon County urges people to stay out of flood waters due to contamination and snakes and alligators flooded out of there habitats.
