Leon County Service Reductions

Among the seven page list of reductions, folks can expect library hours to decrease. Branch locations will not be open on Sundays, and there will be changes in the hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Leon County also reported a 20 percent animal control staff vacancy, which significantly increases their response times. These reductions come right down to even how often the grass is mowed around the county --mostly resulting from budget cuts.

Alan Rosenzweig, the Assistant County Administrator says, "Amendment one passed and there's about a 12.8 million dollar hit that we're anticipating leon county having to take in that reduction. The board, starting about a year ago, has been proactive in trying to minimize county expenses."
