Lake Jackson Community Wins in Judge's Ruling

Leon County has been trying to allow Arbor Properties the right to build a development called "Summerfield" on Lake Jackson. In order to do so--some lake protection rules would have to bend. Today a Florida administrative law judge said those rules cannot be bent, which puts the issue back on the county's table.

Commissioner John Dailey said, "We at the commission have a decision to make. That decision is, do we now challenge it in the district court of appeals or do we just lay it to rest? My position all along is that this is not the appropriate comprehensive plan amendment for this piece of property."

The issue has been in court since November and the county has 15 days to respond to Thursday's ruling.
