Future Road Improvements for the Capital Area

A local transportation agency has requested improvements to parts of Pensacola Street. It's something the agency wants the Florida Department of Transportation to seriously consider. It would mean the addition of bike lanes and better sidewalks. If all goes well, the Capital Region Transportation Planning Agency says work could begin in 2010 or 2011. The C.R.T.P.A also discussed improvements in Wakulla County at the intersection of U.S. 319 and State Road 267. The intersection currently does not have left turn lanes, which is what the agency wants to put in place. The plan also includes the addition of better traffic signals. The planning agency says this project has been approved by the F.D.O.T.
