I-10 Drivers Beware: Major Traffic Switch

Starting tonight, March 27th, drivers heading westbound on I-10 will experience a lane shift near exit 203. Construction workers will be tearing down a bridge and building a new one that will have three lanes instead of two.
The project engineer urges drivers to use caution when traveling for the safety of everyone on the road. "I'd like to stress safety and traveling and obeying the speed limit. We've got it posted, 60 mph and the Florida Highway patrol's been out here this week and will continue throughout the project," said Tony Manos, the project engineer.
Workers say they hope to have the project done in 6 months. After they are done with the westbound bridge, they will work on the eastbound bridge.

Officials said they will move westbound traffic at the Thomasville Road Bridge, on I-10 exit 203, to the left side of the road Thursday night.
Once traffic is diverted, contractors will begin tearing down the old westbound bridge.
Contractors said the new configuration will be in place for the next 9 months. Although the changes will be marked, officials urge drivers to use caution.
