You might remember all of those fund raising meters in front of schools and businesses. Now, all that money has been added up. Friday, the United Way unveiled the number -- $7,241,100 for the 2007 fund raising campaign and officials say it's the largest fund raising effort in UWBB's history.
David Ramsay, a United Way of the Big Bend Chairman said, "One of the nice things about this chapter here, this organization, if you look at the largest United Way agencies and the mid sized United Way agencies in America, we are the third most successful and I am really proud of Tallahassee."
The United Way says it was very pleased with the overall number, especially considering the tough economic times.
