The Mock Trial Team of Lincoln High School is preparing for a state competition in Orlando. The team has a long list of accomplishments, including their representation of Florida twice in national competition. For the trial team's seniors, they say the mock trial has given them invaluable life skills.
Lauren Durden, a team co-captain said, "It's helped me a lot with public speaking and being confident in public and so, in that sense it can help me in any area in my future."
Kathleen Wade, also a captain said, "Regardless of whether you want to go into law or not, mock trial will help you, it will prepare you for your future."
This year's state competition trial is a cultivation of a marijuana case involving child neglect. The team leaves for Orlando Thursday.
