Surprising Chill in the Big Bend

A low of 37 degrees Tuesday morning tied a record temperature for April 15Th--the record set in 2004. Some living in the area might have been ready for the cold, but for people on business for session from farther south, it came as a big surprise.

Lesley Vogels, a Tampa resident said, "Yeah, definitely. I didn't bring the right clothes, but you know, I improvised."

And for the ones who thought it was time to begin gardening--it wasn't quite time to prune the plants. Jim Naff, from Tallahassee said, "Should of waited a little bit of time I think. It's going to be so cold, it's probably going to stunt the new growth. If I would have waited until after cold period, it probably would have been better for the plants."

Alana Wohlrab just worked to beautify her yard. "I've definitely had to wear a jacket to work every morning. And you know I'm kind of worried about my garden. I just planted it a couple of weeks ago and the flowers are already starting to wilt a little bit." she said.
