Sergeant Tim Baxter has been named the Leon County Deputy of the Year. He has been with the Sheriff's Office for 25 years. The Sheriff's Office says he answers the call of duty at all times of the day and night. Baxter was also one of three deputies sent to Georgia to investigate evidence in the Cheryl Dunlap case. He says he's not the only one deserving of recognition.

"For me to be singled out it makes me feel exalted, I mean, it's incredible to be singled out among that and I really I owe the job I do to the people that work for me and around me." said Baxter. Baxter's wife was also honored tonight for standing by him and being so understanding of her husband's demanding job.
