Hurricane season is a little more than a week away, making it the perfect time for the Tallahassee Fire Department to practice setting up what they call a tent city.

Task force seven, with Florida Urban Search and Rescue, uses quick shelters when they need be close to disaster, which allows them to respond quickly to imminent threats. The tents come complete with beds, showers, a bathroom, and air conditioning with a duct system to stay cool.

"With the Katrina the task forces were--it was whatever you can find, you can find--otherwise you're on your own. And that's what we have to be prepared for. We have to be self-sustainable for up to 72 hours." said Leutenant Mike Hadden with the task force.

With the gear, TFD says it has a specially trained crew that knows how to use the right tools for the right job.
