Although the tragedy took place far from Georgia--the plane crash certainly hitting home. Christina Blanton's mother in law worked at Hand in Hand Primary school in Thomasville. Friends who worked in the school said she was excited for her grand daughter, Sydney, to start school there. For the staff at Hand in Hand--this is not easy to deal with.

"They were with their family members everyday, they were with their family members. They were just a really tight family. Even here at school, we're just all a close knit community--we just, we feel their pain." said Sandy Stegaol.

Mary Dennis said, "I was shocked. You can never prepare for something like that and it's just, uh, you can't imagine someone having to go through that especially someone that you know so well."

We have not received any word yet on a memorial service for the three year old who died--Sydney. Friends say the family attends St. Augustine Catholic Church in Thomasville. We'll have more as this develops. Keep checking wctv.tv as this continues.
