It was a packed house at the Museum of Florida History and although many friends and family couldn't get a seat inside, there were plenty of cameras on hand to capture the special graduation.
In a speech to the proud class of graduates, Victoria Zepp, the Life Skills Center Co-founder said, "You fought to get where you are today and you had a lot of support along the way or possible limited support--don't forget that."
For the students of the Life Skills Center Leon County, some earned high school diplomas with more weight to carry than other high school students. "It wasn't easy, you know, day care and finding a way was hard, but you know with my principals and my teachers, they stood behind me--made sure I got to school--and that's what really helps, when you have support like that." said Jessica Harding, a Life Skills Center Graduate.
Each student has a unique trial they overcame and the Life Skills Center says it helps by allowing them to work at their own pace in academics, life preparation, and even work place training. In the end--some find that their experience is almost too hard to describe in words. Many of tonight's WED. 6/3 graduates say the Life Skills Center has prepared them to move on to college.
