FSU Students Down But Proud of Their Baseball Team

It was a good run--but the Seminole baseball players are coming home early from Omaha after another below par perfomance at the College World Series.

It was a quiet afternoon on FSU's campus. It could have been due to the slow summer semester, but the sadness of making it all the way just to turn back around certainly did not help pace of things.

However, many students are very proud of the Noles for even getting a crack at the series title. The Mike Martin legacy and a team that is relentless in achieving greatness is nothing to be ashamed of.

David Margulis said, "You know, I'm proud of the team, it's tough, especially loosing to Miami. Loosing to Miami hurts a lot, but I'm still proud of the team."

Dan Payne, another FSU student said, "I think it's good that we made it this year, but it sucks that we got two games and lost both games and we're out. It's even worse that we lost to Miami I think. It would have been nice to send Miami home because we sent Florida home."

The players are expected to arrive home from Omaha around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
