The 2011 Florida Inaugural Committee today announced the musical entertainment for Military Appreciation: Honoring Those Who Serve, scheduled for Monday, January 3, 2010 at the Leon County Civic Center Arena. The event is part of the festivities surrounding the inauguration of Governor-Elect Rick Scott and will include the following artists: John Michael Montgomery, Aaron Tippin, Rockie Lynne, Lee Greenwood, The Avenue D Boys Choir and Flavor.
The Military Appreciation: Honoring Those Who Serve is a celebration of our active duty military, their families and our veterans. Doors open at noon. The program runs from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and is free and open to members of the military, veterans, Blue Star and Gold Star families, ROTC, National Guard, members of the Wounded Warrior Project, their families and guests. Attendees should show proper identification at the door.
John Michael Montgomery
John Michael Montgomery has turned an uncanny ability to relate to fans into a string of hit records, a roomful of awards and critical and fan accolades. His career includes eleven studio albums and more than thirty singles on the Billboard country charts, including two of Billboard’s Number One country singles of the year: "I Swear" and "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)." His rich baritone voice also lead five more of Montgomery's singles to reach the top of the country charts: "I Love the Way You Love Me", "Be My Baby Tonight," "If You've Got Love," "I Can Love You Like That," and "The Little Girl," while thirteen more have reached Top Ten.
Pensacola native Aaron Tippin is an accomplished American country music artist and record producer. Tippin has crusaded for the working man and woman since he debut in 1990 with his smash single "You've Got To Stand For Something." Comedian Bob Hope invited Tippin to appear with him when he toured the Mideast to entertain the troops of Desert Storm. Tippin has been a favorite of—and a standby for—America's fighting forces ever since. In the years that followed, Tippin has recorded such hits as "I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way," "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With The Radio',” “For You I Will," "Kiss This", and "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly."

Lynne’s, an Army Veteran, new album, Songs For Soldiers, was inspired by his tour of Afghanistan, Southwest Asia, and The Persian Gulf, where he and his band entertained U.S. troops stationed abroad.
Avenue D Boys’ Choir
Avenue D Boys’ Choir is a multi-cultural, all-boys choir for ages 8 – 22 based in Fort Pierce. The nonprofit organization was created in 2004 with the vision to provide a safe-haven for area young men facing gang violence, drugs, delinquency, poverty and high dropout rates. The choir was named after the most infamous street on the Treasure Coast, Avenue D, a tribute to show support to family, friends and neighbors struggling to get past the negative stigma associated with living in the neighborhood. Avenue D Boys’ Choir has received much acclaim for their vocal ability and has performed in venues across the country, including the Motown Museum and for the Governor of Florida.
Flavor is a live entertainment high-energy band based in South Florida featuring an all-star lineup of performers and musicians. The bands’ interactive style with the audience have quickly become one of the most sought after and versatile, live bands in the South.
