They started in Jacksonville and they're headed to San Francisco. The group called "Bike and Build" will be stopping along the way to build for Habitat for Humanity.

Several bicyclist/builders pedaled onto the East Gadsden High School campus for a place to stay Tuesday evening. Bike and Build" says it will stop in places such New Orleans to help out the home building organization.

Participants say their ultimate goal is to spread awareness about affordable housing. Ryan Havice, with Bike and Build said, "To fit this all in one summer is insane. I never imagined I could do this, but we usually spend about seven or eight days biking and on the eight or ninth day we'll work with a habitat along the way."

The group says it travels 50 to 60 miles a day. And the trek from Jacksonville to San Francisco will take about nine weeks. You can follow their progress by clicking the link below to the Bike and Build web site. There, you can also contribute to their cause.
